‘Brake Adjustments’

Self Management Programming

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not everyone WANTS to put the brakes on more often; some like who they are with their 'leaky brakes' but would just rather not have so many accidents! In other words, it is important to learn strategies and techniques for adjusting to the way your brain works, and for adjusting your behaviours so that you don't get into trouble anymore (i.e. make you a safe high-speed driver!). Once we do this, we may even find that your 'leaky brakes' can be a strength! Some of these things we might work on alone; some we might work on in a group with other people who want the same 'Driver Training' --
Treatment services provided, if deemed necessary, are determined in partnership with the family on an individual basis.  Services are tailored to each client's needs, and do not replicate/replace services available and/or existing within the local community.
Treatment typically includes ‘maintenance checks’ (phone check-ins) and/or ‘tune-ups’ (booster sessions) at approximately 6 weeks and 6 months.
