Clinics Brake Shop - Consultation Services

‘A Quick Peek Under The Car’

Consultation Services

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Maybe you or someone else just has some questions to ask: finding out the answers to those questions, or getting some stuff to read or watch or listen to will make your life a whole lot better!
‘Brake Shop’ client consultations do not include ongoing client care – particular assessment and treatment recommendations are provided to the family and/or local services.  Appropriate materials and/or resources can be provided to the direct care individual/facility as a component of this consult or as part of a Training Workshop from our clinic.  Members of the community team are encouraged to attend client consultations.
Programming consultations with members of our clinical team are available on a weekly basis via teleconference.  Time from 2:30 – 3:00 p.m. each Tuesday is devoted to increasing expertise in our community partners. This might take the form of supervision in the use of our materials (e.g. following a Training Workshop).  The time could also be utilized as an opportunity to ask questions regarding assessment, treatment, accommodations, or programming for individuals with ‘leaky brake’ diagnoses. These consultation slots are not a forum for discussion of specific patient details.
CPRI is now a member of the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN), a not-for-profit organization supporting provincial clinical, educational, and administrative telemedicine with a broad, secure and reliable videoconferencing network spanning the continuum of community health services.”  Brake Shop consultation appointments are available via OTN upon request.
Before a Brake Shop consultation is booked, families and/or involved agencies are asked to review our Brake Shop - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section, which has been compiled from questions asked in past consultations.  This section provides an immediate ‘virtual consult’, and may even be all you need (in other words, you saved yourself a wait-list and a visit!).
